Suze Russo Celebrancy

About Me

Hello, I’m Suze.

That’s the name my close family and friends have always known me by and it feels right to share it here too. When we come together to create a ceremony, it’s not a transaction. It’s a collaboration of hearts. It’s real, personal, and rooted in authenticity.

Though I was born down south, I’ve spent much of my life in Liverpool and proudly call myself an honorary Scouser. I lived and worked in London for many years before settling in Epping to raise a family. My path has been an eclectic one: from training as an actress in theatre and film, to time spent in the music industry, and over 25 years in Film and TV production from Bond movies to Katy Perry videos and everything in between.

Later, I found my calling in nurturing new creative voices, mentoring young people from all walks of life into the film industry. Guiding others, finding the spark in them, and helping that spark grow has always felt like a privilege.

Public speaking has threaded through all these chapters but what truly draws me now is something deeper. I’m in a season of life where I want to bring together my creativity, empathy, and emotional literacy to serve in a more intimate, soulful way.

Becoming an independent celebrant feels like the most natural extension of who I am a way to honour life’s profound moments, from first beginnings to final farewells.

I suppose you could say I’m a sentient soul drawn to human connection, to truth, to the beauty in both joy and sorrow. My own life, like many of ours, has been touched by loss. The deaths of my mum, beloved uncles, dear friends, and colleagues have taught me how vast and tender grief can be. Those experiences deepened my understanding of what it means to honour a life and inspired me to help others do the same.

It’s an absolute privilege to walk alongside families, to listen, shape a life story through words, music and poetry, to hold space, and to weave together rituals, and moments that reflect who your person truly is or was. Whether we’re welcoming a new life through a naming ceremony or celebrating a life well-lived, every ceremony is created with heart, honesty, and reverence.

My hope is always the same that together we create something beautiful and memorable.

Something that feels like home.

Something that reminds us all in beginnings and endings, there is love.

Always love.
